Finn and another dude

Did Finn's hair and his jeans. Base coated the rest; I'll try to finish him tomorrow. I think I'm going to try freehanding some kind of team logo on the back of his sweatshirt - it's just too good of an opportunity to pass up. Not sure what logo I'm going to use. I might go with a local team or a team that I like, or I might pick something just because it looks within my ability to reproduce. Hmm...I think I need to smooth out those highlights in his hair a bit more, maybe. It looks OK when it's not in a closeup.

And I started another guy for my modern game. This is one of the new Reaper Bones. His chin came out of the mold kinda rough; I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not, but to me it says he'll get a beard.

So, tomorrow I'm hoping to finish Finn, base coat a bunch of Bones skeletons with the airbrush, and get a chunk of this guy covered in paint. That might be a bit optimistic; we'll see. Probably won't get back to the vestal until after the weekend. I have some more work on her hair to do based on input from my hair expert, and I want to start getting highlights on her armor.

  1. Finn's jeans look amazing! The highlights really make them look faded. The jeans and sweatshirt even have a fabric texture look to them.

The highlights in his hair are bit rough, especially the extreme white highlights. The camera is the harshest critic, though, and if they look good to the naked eye, perhaps a glaze might be enough to smooth things out without going to a lot of effort.

    1. Yup, you're right about the hair. I'm glazing them down to try to make it a bit smoother, as even with the naked eye they're a bit chunky. Hopefully that's enough.
