Revenant: Rack. Drow: Skin.

I worked on the rack thing over the revenant's head today. It's pretty much done. Also did the little ties on the pendants. Next will be the branches. Inching toward done...

I also got a base coat on the drow's skin. She needs a name. Yes, I know, it's very purple. Don't worry, it won't end up that way.

Set's Base. New Project.

I worked more on the base. The gold on the pillar could use another coat, and then there's cleanup to be done, but I'm really happy with the look.

I've also put together my next project. I'm going to paint her up as a drow.

Revenant: Horn

Got a little bit of work done on the revenant. Finished the horn. Next will be the purple rack over his head.

Set's Base: Decoration

I've worked a little on Set's base over the last couple days. I've based part of the decorations. The white parts are going to be gold, and that's what I'll work on next.

Revenant: Sword, Bracers

I painted and attached the revenant's sword today, and painted the bracers. Also got a base coat on the rack over his head. Ended up slopping purple over the branches in the process, which I why I should have done the rack first to start with.

Revenant: Skin, Branches

Continued on the revenant today. I finished his skin (except for his back, which I forgot about and will have to go back to :p), and put a base coat down on the branches of that rack thing going up over his head. Next will be finishing the branches and painting the sword that goes on his back and attaching it.

Revenant: Hair, Arm, Flute. Set Base: Stone, Sand

I worked on the revenant today. Did enough on the arm and the stuff around it to get it attached. Finished his hair, base coated a couple things. Had to putty around his arm after I attached it, so I put him aside after that for the glue and putty to cure.

So after I finished with him for the day, I went back to Set's base. Put some highlights on the stone...I think I need to adjust their placement on the left pillar. Then I did the sand.

Set's Base: Marble

I wanted to stick with something easy tonight, so I worked on Set's base. I base coated and put some veins on the marble. It needs a bit of highlighting but that'll probably be it for that part. The veining is subtle; that's on purpose. I don't want it to draw too much attention. I'll probably do the sand after that.

If I feel really ambitious later, I might try freehanding some hieroglyphs on the pillars. Though, probably shouldn't have done the marble veins if I was going to do that...

Revenant: Attached Flute & Base

I realized that the flute needed to be attached before the other arm, so I primed it, based and shaded parts that would be hard to get to once attached, and glued it on. Then, because I'm tired of holding on to the top while painting this thing, I also attached him to the base. I might regret that later, but he's mostly painted so hopefully it won't be too hard to work on this way.

Revenant: Now, with a face!

I put some shading where the revenant's hair will cover his chest, then I glued the piece with the rest of his hair and his face on. I got something of a base coat on those parts, but I needed to let the glue dry so I didn't do much with it.

Next, I think I'll see what I need to shade before putting his other arm on, and then do that.

Revenant: Skirt Highlights, Body Base

I did highlights on the revenant's skirt, and started on his body. The next step will be to put some shading on his body and then attach the piece that's his face and the rest of his hair.

Revenant: Shading Skirt

Shaded the skirt on the revenant today. I was debating how I wanted to deal with it, looked at the box art, decided I liked what they did, and used that concept as a starting point. Then I added purple. It needs some smoothing and cleanup, but I'm liking the result overall.

Banshee: Veil Highlights

Did more highlighting on the banshee's veil. Not sure how I feel about the results. Dark blue is my nemesis...I want to keep the dark, but I feel like these highlights might be more narrow than I want, too.

I am also having a weird experience with this figure where I'm realizing that I'm not super enjoying working on it and am not super excited by the results so far. I like the sculpt, but I wasn't feeling it when I started and didn't have a clear idea (or any idea, really) of what I wanted to do with it. So I just started doing some stuff. It has occurred to me that unlike other busts which probably cost me $30-$70...I could cut the plinth off this, chuck the figure and the maybe $5 of resin I used to print it, and print myself another one when I felt more inclined to work on it. Kind of a strange feeling.

Revenant: Skirt Base Coat

I got a base coat on the the revenant's skirt. After the three-four coats that took (ug...yellow greens...), that was all I had time for tonight. I was happier with it earlier on than I am now. I'm hoping once I get some shade, highlight, and details on there it'll be less of a giant see of green.

Banshee: Shade & Highlight. Set: Base

I put primer on the revenant's leaf skirt today, and it's best it sits for a while for the primer to cure. So, I went back to the banshee and Set's base.

The banshee got shading and some highlighting. I held off on doing the areas by the lamp, as doing the OSL takes some thought. But on the rest of her, there's shading and a round of highlights.

I also spent some time on Set's base. I scraped off some of the ground texture in areas where I didn't want it, and then primed it. Looking at it, I might take off a little more of the sand texture on the edges of the stone on the ground.

Warsong Revenant: Beginnings

With the base for the warsong revenant done, I'm moving on to the figure itself. This thing is like a jigsaw puzzle; figuring out what pieces need to be painted before what other pieces can be attached is a project of itself.

Anyway, I determined I needed to paint his legs followed by the inside of the leaf skirt thing before the leaf skirt pieces could be attached to the body of the figure. Got those done today and glued the leaf skirt on.

The inside of the skirt looks gray or black here, but it's a very dark green. I might lighten up some of it as I get farther along. The next step will be painting the outside of the skirt and then his chest and arm.

I was going to attach him to the base at this point, but there are only three attachment points and I'm concerned that they might break during painting, so I'm going to wait to do that until he's farther along.
