Ur-kek: Skin highlight, face, loincloth

I put a final highlight on Ur-kek's skin, painted his eyes, and got a base coat on his loincloth. There's some other bits I'm going to paint in that linen color that I didn't  get to tonight.

Ur-kek: Skin Shade & Highlight

Got back to Ur-kek tonight. I did another layer of shading on his skin, and then a first round of highlight. Not sure I love the highlight color I picked. At least, I don't know if I'd use it if I was more worried about realistic skin tones than I am on this guy.

Lucifer: Hair. Arena: Rails

I shaded and highlighted Lucifer's hair today. Pretty happy with it. Also got paint on the eyebrows...not so thrilled with that. 

Also finished the base coat on the wood rails on the two arena sections.

 I was going to work on Lucifer today, and then I didn't. I did work on Ur-Kek; I think he's going to be my March target for completion. I should be able to get him done early-ish in March and then be able to make some good progress on the big projects. Anyway, I did a first round of shading on his skin.

I also got a base coat on the upper rails of one of the arena wall sections. It needs another coat before it'll be a good, solid base.

 Finished up Zora tonight. Yay! So far, still meeting my yearly goal. There are definitely areas on her that could be improved, but overall I'm not unhappy with her. Oh, I forgot to fix her front lock of hair, there. I'll do that next time.

Zora: Headpiece

I finished Zora's headpiece today. Just the belt left. Her belt is going to be a pain because there's designs on those pieces, and the detail shows up just enough to be noticeable but not enough to help you paint it. Hmm...I might need to bring up the white in a couple spots on that headpiece.

Zora: Necklace

 Shading, highlighting, and the gem on Zora's necklace. Also did some shading on her hairpiece. She's getting there, slowly but surely.

Zora: Jewelry Shade & Highlight

 Normally if I can paint on the weekend I like to work on big projects, but Zora has entered the 'almost done' phase where probably I'm going to work on her exclusively until she's finished. To that end, today I worked on her jewelry - the buckle at her shoulder, the hair band in the back, and the back part of her belt (the chain). I shaded and highlighted those pieces, so they are done apart from any touch-up or tweaking I decide to do.

Zora: Jewelry

I painted the tie on the shoulder of Zora's tunic, and base coated all the jewelry. Probably I'm going to finish the jewelry piece by piece from here on.

Zora: Tunic Highlights

 Got highlights on Zora's tunic today. There's a couple spots I need to fix.

Zora: Tunic Shading 2

 Added a couple more layers of shadow on Zora's tunic. Not sure I love how the purple went on; I think I need to clean it up in a couple spots. Highlights next.

Zora: Tunic shading, Round 1

 I went back to the first round of shadow on Zora's tunic. Still needs some work on the blending, and at least another round of darker shadows, maybe two. 

My goal for the year is to finish one figure or project each month. Zora is actually pretty close to done, so I'm going to try to get her finished in February.

Zora: Hair Highlights

I'm not fond of doing hair. It's a struggle for me, every time. Anyway, I put a couple more layers of highlight on Zora's hair, futzed with it a bit, and here is where it ended up. I'm going to sit with it for a while and see what I think.

Zora: Hair

Bit the bullet and started on Zora's hair. I've added shadows and a first round of highlights. I need to narrow those highlights in a few places, but otherwise I think it's OK so far. I need to do another couple rounds of highlight. Oh, that stripe down the middle of her stomach in the second view below? Not paint, it's an actual shadow that only shows up in the lighting booth.

Arena: Wall Section

Here's project 4. I printed all the pieces for this arena from Loot Studio last year, and I've been working on putting the thing together on and off - very slowly - for a while. I have some sections ready to be painted, and I didn't feel like doing anything complicated today, so I base coated two of these.
