Noxious: Skin, face, hair

I put a round of brighter highlights on Noxious's skin, and then glazed them all over with the base skin color to shift the tone of the highlights a bit. Then I went on to detailing his face, and then doing the hair.

The front view looks a little weird because I'm not focusing on it. I'm not focusing on it because I expect he will mostly be viewed from one side or the other, like in the other pictures.

Next will be the loin cloth and various wraps he's got.

Noxious: Skin Highlights

I started roughing in highlights on Noxious's skin. It needs a glaze - I'm not thrilled with the color of the highlights. A little too pink. They also need to be smoothed.

The pose this guy is in is somewhat unusual, which is making me have to think harder about where the highlights and shadows go than I usually have to. It's kinda nice, actually.

Noxious: More shading skin

Yes, it's been a while. I was sick for a few days and didn't work on anything, and then focused on finishing up a commission piece. But that's all done now (well, I'm still recovering from being sick, so mostly done). But today I got back to Noxious. I decided that I definitely wanted to deepen the shadows on his skin, so I did that, along with a little bit of smoothing.

With Abdel done, I got back to Noxious today. I put a couple rounds of shading on his skin.

I think I'm going to need to go a little darker, but I might do the highlights and then see what I think. And yes, some smoothing needs to happen, too.

Finished up Abdel today. Here he is with the blade hilt attached, and then with his plinth.

Abdel: Belts & Buckles

I've been sick for a few days, and today finally felt well enough to get back to painting. I worked on highlights for Abdel's belts, and did the buckles and studs and such.

Small changes, but I think they made a big difference as far as making him look finished.

All that's left now is the (not yet attached) dagger hilt.

Abdel: Belts

Today was some clean-up of the mane and belts, and then adding some edging and cracks to the belts to make them look worn. No highlights or shadows yet, that will come next.

I finished up his tunic today.

Like I said, there's really just a few bits left to do on him now.

Abdel: More stripes

Next figure, no stripes.

This is some yellow 'shimmer' on the cloth, as well as some shading and highlighting on the area. I will finish the other side next time. I still have a ways to go, but he's actually mostly done!

Abdel: Experiment

The picture I'm working from for the robe has kind of shimmering stripes to it, so I'm playing with replicating that. This is an attempt at adding that in a small area, just to see how it will go.

I don't think it quite reads right, but I don't hate it, either. I'll probably continue and see how it works on a larger area.
