Starting up a new figure. This has been in the 'ready to paint' box for a while. I meant to work on it for ReaperCon last year, but that didn't happen at all.Now I'm going to use it as a quick, fun piece before moving on to something more serious. I'm also going to use it to try out some new metallic paints that I got.
What's with the funky colors? Well, those areas are going to be metal - steel and gold. What's on there is just the under coat for the metallic paint.Metallic paints tend to be on the transparent side, so putting a colored base coat under them helps cover the primer and also gives a little bit of depth.
