Nun: Black and Red
Finished the highlights on the blacks, and shaded and highlighted the red. Also did her guns. The last bit for her is the parts that are going to be gold - some of the armor on her boots, her jewelry, and the rounds in her ammo belts.

10!
Here's the barbarian, base and all.
Along with finishing him, I continued the nun today. I base coated most of her clothing and started on highlights on the black.
I'm not sure about red for the head scarf thing. I might switch that to black...or, since this one is meant to be a quick paint, I may just live with it as is. I was working with this figure to determine if the badly cast resin was going to be workable. I found that there are some areas, deep folds and such, where the primer didn't reach or was very light that took some work to get covered - the paint wanted to bead and run off. But I did eventually get some to stick. So, I think the figures with the bad resin are going to be paintable with some extra work, but they're not going to be great.
Still, I have been having fun painting her. Battle nun!

Barbarian's Base, Nun
I worked on the base for the barbarian. Today was putting in the grass and the flock. I'm going to paint those and put in some water effects next time.
After that I decided to spend a little time on the battle nun.

Barbarian: Shoes, Belts
More work on the barbarian today. I've finished up his shoes, the cuff on his wrist, and the leather belts and things. He's almost done. I need to do a fair bit of touch up and then his sword and belt buckles. And then, well, his base, which will take some work.

Barbarian: Kilt, Belt
I've finished all my commissions for a while, so I'm going to go back to finishing up projects that I have partially done. I'm starting with the barbarian. I shaded and highlighted his kilt and started on the leather belt and bits.
I thought about doing some texture with him, but decided I'd rather just finish the piece so I can move on to other things. So, I'm just going to try to wrap it up quickly.

Barbarian: Rings & Kilt. Nun: Skin
I did a little prep work on my ReaperCon figure today; I'll probably have pictures of here tomorrow. In the meantime, since I had to wait for some glue to dry, I worked on other things.
First, the barbarian. Remember him? I shaded and highlighting the rings on his armor sleeve, and started some shadows on his kilt.

I think his lips are too dark, so I'll have to go back and fix that. Other than that, it'll be continuing with his kilt.
This is a battle nun from Raging Heroes's most recent figure kickstarter. There were issues with the resin formulation with some of the figures, including this one - it ended up with a slick, greasy surface that doesn't want to take paint. So painting it is really just an experiment to see if I can get paint to stick to the ones with the bad resin. So far, it looks like I probably can, with some work. There are some spots in the recesses that didn't get much of the sprayed-on primer coat that the paint didn't want to stick to, so that's worth noting. I'll continue working on her every now and then, but it's not a priority.
