Ghosts: Ectoplasm

 I've shaded and highlighted their main 'bodies', that is, the ectoplasm. I think I might do the chainmail next before moving on to the shroud.

Ghosts: More base coating

Should I have started shading and highlighting on the green parts? Yes. Did I? No. I wasn't feeling up for that, so I base coated some other parts of the figures. I was fighting with my brushes the whole time (they have decided to start splaying), so it was actually quite frustrating. These brushes are fairly new; I'm not sure what the problem is. But hey, there they are.

Gamygin: Skin base

New project! The downside to choosing a base coat close to the primer color is that it makes it more difficult to see the difference. Anyway, I'm going with a light gray/white skin tone for her.

Here's Atrox, all finished.

Atrox: Stripes

I softened up the transition between the orange and white, and then got the stripes on. Next I think will be facial details, maybe paw details, and then shading and highlighting along the body.

More Ghosts

 Got the base greens on the rest of that batch of ghosts.

Atrox: Base colors

This is Atrox, another Arena Rex figure. There are a number of beasts; I don't think I've painted any of them first. I have blocked in the base color. I'll soften the lines between the orange and the white, then stripes, then shade and highlight, then details. I'm hoping this one goes pretty quickly.

Finished up this guy. I will finish the other three that I have put together; not sure if I'll do the rest right now or not. Glad to have settled on a color scheme, though.

Ghost: Highlights

Got some shading and highlighting on my prototype. I think the highlights need to come up more, but it's better. I think I'm happy with the color scheme overall.

I got back to these guys today. This is the initial color scheme I tried, as a reminder:

I like it, but not for these pieces. I do want that chlorine gas look, though. So, this is what I'm considering now:

This is just base colors blocked in, so it looks quite flat. I'm going to sit with it for a bit and see how I feel about it.
