Duelist: Shading Pants

I didn't get a lot done today. I got a couple rounds of shadow on his pants, and that was it. Probably should have put stripes on them. Still could.

Duelist: Gold, Leather, Armor?

Today I added another highlight to the leather, finished the gold, and then got sick of the big white area that's the skirt/armor stuff, so I put a base coat on that. Not sure where I'm going to go from here, maybe finish the pants.

Duelist: Tattoos, Leather

Got highlights on the tattoos. Also got some more shadow and highlights on the leather. Oh, and then a base coat on the torcs, which are going to be gold. The one on his calf is silly; no way it would stay up.

Duelist: Leather

I should have done highlights on the tattoos, but I wasn't feeling it. Instead, I did the leather strappy bits - his sandal, the wraps on his arm, the ties in his hair. I got a round of shading on the leather, too. It probably needs a second shadow. 

Next time, something will get highlights, either the tattoos or the leather.

Duelist: More Hair, More Tattoos

 I added another round of highlights on the hair. Then I base coated the rest of the tattoos. They look a little weird - they need to be shaded and highlighted like the skin. I shaded them, but there are no highlights yet.

Duelist: Hair, Tattoos

 I got shading and highlights on his hair, though I might need to do another round of highlights. Then I started messing with the tattoos. According to The Internet, which is now even less reliable than it used to be, we don't know if Vikings typically had tattoos or not, much less what they looked like. However, it's speculated that if they did, they'd probably have been dark blue in color because that's what happens when you use wood ash in your ink.

So, I got a dark blue and mixed it with a bit of my skin color, then put that on the tattoos sculpted on his legs. I'm not sure if I like it, so I'm going to give it some thought before proceeding. I'd like them to be less saturated, I think.

Duelist: Skin Highlights, Face, Hair, Pants

I got a last round of highlights on his skin. I need to clean up a few areas, but mostly I'm happy with the results. I also did the details on his face, which for this guy is really just the eyes. Then I base coated his hair, and then his pants with the blue I'd mixed for his eyes.

Next I'll finish the hair. Then, I'm not sure. Maybe finish the pants, maybe do some of the leather straps and wraps, maybe decide what to do with the tattoos.
