I'm more enthused by the Infernal Enrapturess, so I'm working on that more than Hagal. Yesterday I worked on the base; today I gloss sealed it, and then got a base coat on the skin for the thrall. I need to complete the lower half of them, then I'm going to attach them to the base and finish the rest. The purpose of that is to avoid the risk of getting paint on the base when I work on their legs.
Base coated Hagal's skin. Also worked on the base for the Enrapturess, but it's covered in not yet dry putty, so no pictures today. Tomorrow, maybe.
With Gjallr done, here's what's on tap next. First is Hagal, the last of the 5 characters I need for this faction in Arena Rex.
And this guy is one half of the Infernal Enrapturess figure from GW. It's in the Slaanesh faction. This one I'm going to have to do in phases. First phase is the base. Then this dude. Then the Enrapturess herself. Why that order? It's because of the way the figure gets put together. He goes on the base, and since she's playing the 'harp' her figure sort of wraps around this guy.
So I was able to do the shading and highlighting on Gjallr's leather straps, get the axe attached (I'd been painting it along side the main figure), and get a base coat on his shield (not pictured). I need to finish the shield and attach it, do the base, and that's it! One or two more nights, I think, and he'll be done.
Finished up the fur and base coated the assorted leather straps. I'm hoping that I can finish the straps and get his axe arm glued on next time, but that might be a little optimistic. There's a lot of straps and they have a lot of edges to deal with. Also, there's a couple of buckles and studs on a belt that I missed when I was doing metals, so I'll have to go back and do those. That part won't take long, though.
Shaded and highlighted the metal, and then base coated the fur. Well, and the shoes. They aren't fur but I've decided to use the same dark brown for them. He's coming along pretty quickly; if I keep at it I might get him finished this week.
