So I was able to do the shading and highlighting on Gjallr's leather straps, get the axe attached (I'd been painting it along side the main figure), and get a base coat on his shield (not pictured). I need to finish the shield and attach it, do the base, and that's it! One or two more nights, I think, and he'll be done.
Finished up the fur and base coated the assorted leather straps. I'm hoping that I can finish the straps and get his axe arm glued on next time, but that might be a little optimistic. There's a lot of straps and they have a lot of edges to deal with. Also, there's a couple of buckles and studs on a belt that I missed when I was doing metals, so I'll have to go back and do those. That part won't take long, though.
Shaded and highlighted the metal, and then base coated the fur. Well, and the shoes. They aren't fur but I've decided to use the same dark brown for them. He's coming along pretty quickly; if I keep at it I might get him finished this week.
I did the shading and highlighting on Gjallr's pants, and then undercoated and base coated most of the metal. Next I'll finish the metal, and then I think do the fur cloak.
Got a lot done today. Finished shading and highlights on his skin, painted his hair (it helped that there's not much of it), and base coated his pants. Tried painting his eyeballs through the holes in the helmet, gave up and shaded them in. There are sculpted eyes in there, but they didn't seem to be even and level, and they're really hard to reach. I think just leaving the eye holes in the helmet dark will be a better choice.
Base coat and a couple rounds of shadow. I should be able to finish the skin and hopefully the hair next time.
Here's Hroka finished.
And the next piece. This is Gjallr, ready for paint tomorrow. He has a shield and an arm with an axe that are not yet attached.
