I think I skipped pictures a couple times after working on her. I've finished the shading on her tail, and started on the highlights. Wow, this figure does not photograph well.
The highlights look much more highlight-y in person; I'm not sure what's going on with that. It looks a lot less saturated here, too.
Worked more on the mermaid. I've finished her face and hair, and started shading the scales. She's coming along OK.
I got highlights on the mermaid's skin. It needs a little work still, but hopefully the face will be better once the hair is painted.
Remember this one? Got back to it tonight. Did shading on her skin. It...needs work. I overdid it in some spots, and I was also trying a new paint, which was not cooperative. Not sure why it's so much harsher on the face than the rest of her.
Finished Ronso tonight. Finally! I started him back in January. It's been a long road. He's not my highest quality piece ever, but I like him. I finished off the base, and also decided that his head, horns, and braids, needed lighter highlights, so I did that too. I think it's most noticeable on the horns. There's some clean up I should do on his feet that I missed; I will try to remember to do that next time I paint.
His feet and body are different colors, I swear! The color distinction doesn't show up well in pictures.
Going to go back to the merfolk after this, and I've got some commissions I need to do that I can't show here.
I got highlights on Ronso's breast plate, did the gems (simple black), and started on the base. Almost there.
Highlights on Ronso's greaves. NMM is always a little harrowing to do, because it doesn't really come together until it's done. It looks unconvincing until you get that last highlight on there, and then suddenly it's all fine, as if by magic.
Gotta finish the breastplate, then the gems, and then the base. Almost there!
