Not a ton of work on this guy today, but some. I used Nightshade Purple, which is so dark it can look like black, for the deepest shadow areas on his flesh, as well as for lining. It's a subtle difference, but it is a difference. Not sure if it'll show up in these photos or not. Next will probably be starting to highlight his skin.

Deeper Shadows
I did a second round of shadows on the demon. I went with the dark green, because it's not what I'd usually do. Time to experiment a bit. I'm pretty happy with the results, but I probably will come back with a last layer of Nightshade Purple for the very darkest bits and lining.

Shadow Demon
Picking up the shadow demon again. He's got one layer of shadows on his skin now. I did them in a bluish purple. It doesn't show up great in the pictures, but trust me, it's there. I'm debating what to use for the deep shadow color. Maybe a darker purple...maybe something like a brown. I'm trying to bring some variety in colors into the shadows rather than sticking with the same tones, just darker. I wonder what a really dark green would look like...though, I'm not sure that's where I want to go for the overall look.
This guy is big, so doing one layer takes most of the evening. The good news is, once his skin is done, the rest should go quick.

Next lizard man
Didn't get very far today. The weather we've been having has been giving me headaches, which makes painting somewhat more difficult. But I did get a start on this guy.

124!
That's it...at 124, I have painted exactly twice the number of minis I have purchased this year. Assuming I don't buy any more, anyway, which I'm pretty sure I will be able to hold off on doing. This is the first time I've made my numbers since I began counting. Also, this year will be the highest number of minis I've painted in a year since I've been counting. Even though it's heading into the super busy holiday season, I do expect to finish at least a couple more by the end of the year.
So, here's the finished lizard man, and then a group shot of all three.
I did have a minor crisis tonight. A stack of books fell on the shelf where I was keeping some finished but not sealed minis. One of these guys was among them; the once in the center. One of the spines on his back came off and was bent, and there was some paint cracking and chipping. I got him more or less patched up (you can kinda see a darker area on his tail where I did some paint repair and didn't get it completely smoothed in). Also lost the tip of one of the blood vestal's swords...I haven't decided if I'm going to re-green stuff that or what.
The books have been moved and most of the minis in that area put away somewhere safer. :p

Down to the base
Almost done with the lizard man. I've just got to finish his base and a couple other details. I'm definitely looking forward to moving on to other things.

123!
I did a bunch of zombies at Finger Lakes Paint Day yesterday. My goal was to finish them while I was there; that didn't quite happen. But I got pretty far and finished them up today. I think the lot took me about 4 hours, all told. They aren't super high quality, but they're not meant to be.
This is how far along they were at the end of the day yesterday:
I was trying to make them match this guy, who I painted a while back:
And, here there are finished.
Also worked on the lizard man today. Finished the leather, started the metals.
I've got four more lizards of that style to go, but they are all one-offs. No more batches.

Another bit farther
OK, so, I'm not gonna finish this guy this week. Not too much longer after that, though.
I didn't get as much done with him tonight as I might have liked. I was prepping some other minis for Finger Lakes Paint Day tomorrow. I'm taking six Bones zombies which I will try to finish tomorrow. Probably won't for one reason or another, but I will try.

Bit Farther
As promised, I did the feathers and other purple bits, his eyes, and his claws. I'm hoping to be done with him this week. What's left now is the leather, armor, and sword.

Lizard Man #3
Worked on the next lizard man's crest. Not much else to say; he's pretty much like the other two. I'm hoping to just chug through this guy - they've been on my table way too long. Tomorrow for him, eyes, claws, and feathers.

117!
And, the lizard man is done. The glue on his basing is still wet in these pictures, which is why it looks cloudy.
Tomorrow, on to the last of these three lizard man and the shadow demon.

Lizardman
Almost done with the lizard man.I have to finish the base and some highlighting on the purple bit. He should be done next time.
And, I remembered to get pictures of my sculpts. The rightmost one is the most recent one. Note the edges of the cloth at the top of the bag. They're sharper than the others. That's what I learned to to while I was at Reaper. Still needs work...my sculpting skills have a long way to go before I get a piece I'll be happy with.

116!
Finished the swashbuckler. He's not great, but that's OK. It was a new technique trial piece. I'm happy with the experimenting, but it'll take more practice. I was using more colors in the shading, but by and large the base colors are dark enough that it doesn't show up that well. Tomorrow, back to the lizard man.
