Did face details, hair, and a base coat on the belt of the goth boy. I don't love the face, at least not under the photo booth lighting.
Also, here's the whole group of Morituri:

Zahra and Sereqet, done. Having a bit of a problem in that with the whip attached (it's metal, not resin) she's off balance and falls over on the scorpion. Haven't decided what to do about that yet. I might try to find some very tiny magnets, or I might glue her on after all.
She's done, including sealer. I wanted to give the sealer time to set, so next time I'll trim off the pin and she'll be all set.
Got her hands attached, finished painting them and the bracer on her left arm, and got started on her weapons. One more session, I think.
Finished her clothing and got a base coat and shading on the leather/armor bits. There's actually not a lot left to her. Three or four sessions, maybe.
Here's the scorpion rider. I've based the skin and done a first round of shadow.
When she's done, I'm going to clip off and file down the brass rod I'm currently using to hold her up while I paint her. I don't think I'm going to attach her to Sereqet - the beasts can be used without their riders, and the riders can dismount and remount during a game, so I'd rather keep her as a separate piece. That'll be great until I break and/or lose the figure, but I'll live with that.
Is it good? No. Is it good enough? Yup. Anyway, Sereqet is done. I still need to do the rider before I'm going to call it a complete figure, though.
Got Sereqet on his base. I was going to wait to do it until he was done, but I was getting some rub-off issues so I finished the body and legs and then attached him to the base. Still have to finish the tail and some other bits.
The goth guy is put together now. Well, except for his swords. But the torso is attached to the legs and gap filled. The base coat on his skin is my second attempt; the first flesh tone I had was pinker than I wanted.
Worked on Sereqet tonight. He's definitely in ugly phase. It's OK. It'll get better. I have to finish shading and highlights, blending, and do some detail work.
I've spent the past few days cleaning up and putting together my next couple projects.
The first is Sereqet. This is the last of the Morituri figures from Arena Rex. There's also a rider figure. I'm going to finish the scorpion, attach it to its base, paint the base, then do the rider. I'll probably not attach the rider so I can use the figure with it or without it.
On the box, this figure is named 'Shazam'. Not going to use that name, but I haven't figured out another one, so for now he's just the goth boy. The torso is not yet attached; I need to do some shading on the inside of the coat and the back of his legs while they are separate, and then I can glue the pieces together, gap fill, and continue.
Got the base coat and spots on the hyena and the fur he's wearing. I think one, maybe two more sessions for him.
I highlighted the chains on Anum, and put the hyena in place. Didn't quite get it placed correctly for the chain to look exactly right, but...whatever, close enough. I suppose I could have cut the chain to make it fit. Didn't think of it.
Finished the gold bits, the collar, his club, and started the chain. I'll finish the chain next, and then make a decision on whether to put the hyena on the base and then paint it or paint it separate. Either way, I'll paint the fur around his waist at the same time.
Did his...I'm gonna go with 'loincloth', I guess, and glued the other part on in the process. Then I did the undercoat, base, and shadow of the various gold bits he's got. I'll probably finish the jewelry and knick-knacks next; I might wait to do the fur at his waist until I'm also doing the hyena that goes on his base.
Did the highlights on his skin, and then the facial details. He has such tiny little eyes, I ended up using a trick Derek Schubert taught - just use the whole eye socket as your eye. Next will be the loincloth.
Anum, the next of my Arena Rex guys. He's so far back on his base because there's a hyena that goes on there as well. I've got his skin base coated and shaded.
I think she's done! Though, I'm going to take a closer look at the bats tomorrow and see if I want to do anything more with them.
I finished the fur on her coat, and base coated the bats. Then, since I had a bunch of the dark brown I used on the bats left, I base coated the ground with it. I don't think I'll quite manage to finish her before February, but it'll be really soon after.
Finished the blade of her axe, and base coated the fur. Going to have to do a lot of cleanup on the coat after I've finished the fur.
I cleaned up the areas on her skin where I slopped other colors, painted the axe and the branch she's standing on. I need to finish the axe blade. Not sure where I'll go after that; I should probably do the fur.
