Stheno/Kali: Skin and shading

Finished base coating Stheno/Kali's skin and started the first round of shading. I have not yet shaded the whole thing, just the torso and legs. And there's some cleanup of that shading to be done, too.

Theophania is done! The sealer went on glossier than I'd like; I think I had too much on the brush. Then it dried instantly so I couldn't really thin it out. Sigh. Other than that, she's fine. Don't love it, don't hate it, it'll do.

Also started on my next Arena Rex figure. This is Stheno. Not sure why they used what is obviously Kali for a Greek creature, and I'm disappointed that they did. Also disappointed that I didn't notice right away. Anyway, I did some research, thought about it, decided that it'd be most respectful to paint it like Kali no matter what the game is calling her. So, Kali is described as having blue or black skin, and I decided to go with blue.

Theophania: Blade, Base

I finished her blade, then did the base. I've also started on the shield, but obviously it's not attached yet. The shield should be finished pretty quickly.

Theophania: Leather, Metal

Got highlights on the leather bits, and then did the metal bracers and sword. I need to finish the sword blade, the base, and her shield. 

Theophania: Cloth, Leather

 I got shadows and highlights on the cloth today, and base coated leather bits. 

Theophania: Face, Hair, Cloth

Finished her hair and face, and got a base coat on her clothing.

Theophania: Skin shadow & highlight

I got shading and highlights on Theophania's skin, though I think I need to tweak some of the highlights a bit, particularly on her leg. After fixing that, next will be face details and hair.

 Finished the Infernal Enrapturess today. This means I am right on schedule - a third of the way through the year, and 6 figures completed. Hopefully I can finish Theophania this month and get a little ahead.

Enrapturess: Hair, and attaching to base!

I finished her hair and then glued her in place with the other figure. I still have to finish and attach her other arm. I got that base coated today, so it shouldn't take long to finish.

Enrapturess: Gold, Gems, Hair

Finished the gold and the gems, and then got a base coat on her hair. I wasn't sure what color I wanted, so I tried this purple to see what I think. So far, so good. Next is finishing the hair and then starting her other arm. I can probably glue her to the base before finishing the arm.

Enrapturess: Gold

 Got a bit of shading and the first lighter color on the gold. There's a lot of gold, so that was it. Hoping I can finish the gold next time. After that it's just the gems and her hair.

Enrapturess: Dress, Jewelry

 Got highlights on the dress and then base coated the gold jewelry. I do not love the dress, honestly. I'm going to think about it and see if I come up with ideas on how to tweak it; right now I think the transition between the shadow and highlight comes across as really stark, though looking close up it doesn't have that effect.

Enrapturess: Horns, Dress. Again.

 I got some highlights on her horns, and then re-based the dress with a darker, more subdued red. I think it's much better than the original red. I got some shading on the dress as well. Oh, and the horn tip is still bright red because I'm going to make it gold instead, so I didn't go over it with the other red.

 I finished her eyes, base coated the horns, and then waffled on what color to make her hair, so I decided to base coat the dress and see how the colors look. I am...not sure about this particular red. I might prefer a cooler red against that skin tone. I think next I'll get highlights on the horns and then...not sure. Maybe pick a different red, maybe shade that red, maybe base coat the gold to see what effect that has.

Enrapturess: Skin

 Got the rest of the skin done on the Infernal Enrapturess. Next will be the facial details, horns, and hair.

Theophania: Skin Base

I got primer on the Enrapturess, and then wanted to give that time to set so I switched to Theophania. Here she is with her skin base coated.

Enchantress

Got the leg (and the inside of the skirt) on the enchantress done. I'm hopeful that a blob of putty will be enough to hold her steady. I'll find out next time when I prime the rest of the figure.

Enchantress, Theophania

Started on the Enrapturess half of the Infernal Enrapturess. I've primed and base coated the inner surfaces of the skirt she's got. Most of it will not be visible when everything is put together. I'm going to finish the legs, clean up the spots where I slopped paint, and then figure out how to put the thing on a holder while I prime and paint the rest of it. She's missing an arm, which will have to be painted separately and attached after the fact.

I also prepped my next gladiator, Theophania. She should be quick to paint, so I'm hoping I can finish both of these this month and get a little ahead of schedule.
