Did the freehand on his pants. Ended up with more blue on them than I was aiming for. I'm not sure what I think of it overall. I wasn't sold on it, but it's growing on me, I think. Either way, I need to finish highlights on his pants, and then I can prep and attach the next piece.
Finished up the base on this guy. Might regret doing the edge this early. Next, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do the freehand on his pants.
Focused on the base today. It's mostly done, need to do some edge highlighting. And put some tufts on there.
I did not have a ton of time to work on this guy tonight, but I got a little done. I've highlighted his boots and knee pads (armor?) and got a base coat on the dirt on his base. I need to finish the pants and the base, then I can put the cloak on - but I need to prime and paint the inside of it before I can attach it.
Remember this guy? Got some more work in on him today. The head and chest is done, I want to do detailing on the pants next. The pants, shoes, and the base need to be done before his cloak can go on, which would be the next step.
Next project! I have base coated the skin on this bust. There are arms not currently attached, I got the skin base coated on them too.
So they're not quite done. The braziers aren't attached yet, and I want to give them a once-over to make sure I haven't missed anything. But I think they're basically done.
My replacement paint showed up today, so I did the highlights on the skin on his arms. Al that's left on him is the claws. Whew!
I also worked on the braziers that are going to go on the base, but I don't have pictures of those. It'd be great if I could highlight the claws and get the braziers attached next time, but I think it's more likely it'll take 2 more sessions to finish.
I'm actually pretty close to done with this guy. I finished the last of his jewelry and highlighted the armor on his claws. I need to finish the gems on that armor. It went faster than I was expecting, so I'm hopeful the claws themselves will be similarly fast. Then I have to wait for my missing paint to finish the highlights on his arms. I have a couple things I'm thinking about putting on the base, and I will need to take a look at that. But...I think just two to four more days.
I shaded their other three arms (well, I think I missed the sword hand, but that will be quick enough to fix) and then started on the jewelry details on the sword arm.
Worked on the sword. It's pretty much done, though I might add another highlight on the bottom plane.
Finished the jewelry on the Keeper's left arm, and did the sword grip accent on his right. I was hoping to get more into the sword tonight, but...I didn't. That jewelry goes so slow. Anyway, the sword will be next time.
I switched the sleeves to red. They're...different, but I don't think better. Just different. But I'm not switching them back. They're shaded and highlighted, I did highlights on the claws on both hands, and started the jewelry on the left hand.
So, turns out I'm out of one of the colors I've been using for highlights. I have some more on the way, but in the meantime I've shifted gears. I'm going to finish whatever doesn't use that color, so that means I'm on to the sword, claws, and so on. May also shade the skin and do at least some of the jewelry.
I'm wondering if I should make those sleeves red instead...I might do that.
Got the jewelry on his head/face attached and all painted. Yay! Now I'll be moving on to each of his arms in turn. Probably going to do the claw arm first.
Shading and highlights on the hair, horns, and related jewelry. Next will be painting then attaching the last piece of jewelry that goes on the face.
Got the hair shaded and glued on the ponytail. Base coated the horns and horn tips. Next will be highlights on the hair, horns, and shading/highlighting the tips. Then I'll put on the piece of jewelry that goes over his face.
I finished up the torso jewelry. I think that's it for his midsection. Next will be his hair, horns, and the piece of jewelry that goes on his face. There is a little cleanup I should do, too.
After all that, it'll be each of the arms in turn.
Got some highlights on the bodice and base coated the jewelry on their torso and head. Oh, and base coated the hair as well, including the piece that isn't attached.
Did facial details, which is really just the eyes and mouth for him. The mouth was quick, and (of course) I spent a lot of time futzing with the eyes. I'm not sold on the result, but they're barely going to be visible anyway once the rest of the jewelry goes on his face.
Finished shading and highlighting on the front of his torso and his face. I think the order of operations here will be finish the torso clothing including the beads, then his face, hair, horns, and jewelry on his head, and then each of his arms. I'm guessing...two more weeks. Maybe a bit more because I'm going to miss a couple days in there.
Finished the back of the cape and put a first round of highlight on the back of his leg and the front edge of the skirt. The highlight on that inner skirt is not great and will need to be fixed, but I think next I'm going to finish the front of the torso and maybe his head.
Did the highlights on the front of his cape, and shadows on the back. Next will be highlights on the back.
Finished the gold and blue decorations on the cape. I will continue with the cape from here, though I might do the front and then finish the back later.
Glued the joins on the wrists, and then base coated the decorative details. Next time I'm hoping to finish the decorations and highlight the parts of the skirt that are still visible from the back.
