Finished the blue stuff on Aquila by adding highlights, and then did the linen on his forearms and lower legs. Leather straps next, I think. I still need to fix his eye. I forgot about it.

Aquila: Blue stuff
Got a start on the parts of Aquila that will be blue. These are base coated and shaded. I need to fix his left eye, I think.

14!
Finished the park today! It's not anything super special, but it was a nice little 'don't think about it real hard' kind of piece.
That will likely be it for things I get finished this year. It's possible I'll manage to squeeze in Aquila, but I'm not going to push for it.
I managed to hit my goal for this year (1 figure completed per month) plus a bit, so I'm happy with that. What about next year? Well, I think 2 figures a month, especially now that I'm doing more large scale stuff, might be too much to hop for. But I might be able to do one and a half. That'd be 18 figures next year. I think I will try for that. So, goals:
- 18 figures complete in 2025.
- 5 person squad for each faction I've got in Arena Rex. This is actually most of the way there; I've got 5 guys for something like 3 of the factions.

Park: Bushes, Statues. Aquila: Shading Skin.
Finished and added a couple more pieces of the park. I have a couple bushes left to do, and then this piece will be done. There are some potted plants that go with it, but I don't think I'm going to attach those. They'll work better as scatter.
Then I got back to this guy. Got some shading on his skin.

Park: Shrubbery
Next part: The shrubberies that go around the outer edge. They're done and attached. There are some additional pieces to them that I just primed, and there are two statues that go between the shrubberies that I base coated tonight and need to get shade and highlight.

Park: Centerpiece
Still working on the park. Everything on this base piece is done now (though I have a bit of cleanup I have to do), and I also started the base coat on the hedges that go around the edge.

Park!
I've set Nyarlathotep aside for the moment. Instead, I'm working on this terrain piece, which is a small park. There are some bushes and such to be added that I'm going to paint separately.

Nyarlathotep: Teeth and Stuff
So I did the cleanup, then dry fit him to his base, then realized that he wasn't going to line up with all the spots for his feet as intended. So I filled on the spots that weren't going to line up on the base and painted over them and cut off the tabs on his tentacles and painted over that. Then I base coated his teeth. Probably going to shade and highlight the teeth next while I think about whether I want to put a glaze on the tentacles to bring the colors together a little more.

Nyarlathotep: All Tentacles Based
Finished the base coat on all the tentacles. Well, mostly. You might spot a couple white areas or areas where the color is quite thin. Those are places where I changed my mind on what color they should be, and I will take care of it in the cleanup step. Which is what I'll do next.

Nyarlathotep: Look, it's all tentacles.
Did base coats on the worm-like tentacles and started the last set. I think the bright flesh color for the pink tentacles might be a bit much, but it's better once I get the brown on the rest of them. I might end up putting a tint across everything to pull it together anyway. We'll see. I need to finish the base coating, then do a lot of cleanup, and then decide whether to apply a tint or not.

Nyarlathotep: Tentacles
I've determined there are three types of tentacles on this guy: ones with suckers like an octopus or squid, segmented ones like an earthworm, and smooth ones. I started with making his tongue purple, then decided more of that color should be on the figure, so I painted the squid tentacles the same purple. I might try to make the segmented ones earthworm-colored, because yuck.

Nyarlathotep: Starting
Next project. This needs to get done in a hurry. I was struggling choosing colors. I ended up at, well, it kinda reminds me of some of the monsters from Stranger Things, which appear to be plant-based, so...green. And it has some tentacles that have suckers like octopus tentacles, and I found some pictures of red/orange octopi, so...maybe some orange?
So with that, I decided to start putting some color on there and see where it went. We shall see.
