94!

Another familiar - a quick job to get back in the swing of things after vacation. I used a picture of a Sulcata Tortoise to work from. It didn't quite work out as I'd hoped. There's gloss varnish on the shell, which will get dulled down a bit when it gets its dull coat of sealer.

  1. Love the shell, and the muted colour palette. Beautiful work! Is this supposed to be a tortoise? It has turtle feet, so you might want to keep the gloss to make it look like it's just crawled out of the water.

    1. Well, I used a picture of a Sulcata Tortoise for inspiration. According to Wikipedia, this is a tortoise that lives along the southern edge of the Sahara desert. The feet in the picture looked pretty similar to the feet on the model. I'm not sure if that means the picture was mis-categorized or what, but...yeah. Supposed to be a tortoise. I left the shell a little shiny, but not quite as shiny as in this picture.
